Sometimes, according to psychology, what we need is a good old visit from Captain Obvious. Today, that’s me.

Why do we forget that sometimes the best solution is the most simple?

Because of something called the Einstellung effect, where we rely so much on experience and all the things that have happened to us before, all the things we’ve tried that have previously worked, that we completely forget to consider the obvious – even when that’s a far better way.
