How NASA Got Astronauts to Select Their Accurate Penis Size

No man would select ‘small’

NASA had an unusual problem with their astronauts.

There’s a piece of equipment that’s used to help the men in space urinate, and it fits snuggly around the penis. The problem is, it has to be just that – snug.

Zero-gravity waste expert Donald Retkhe explained the system thus:

“Inside the urine collection assembly, which we call the pee pouch, is a one liter bag. And the attachment to the body was a condom with a hose on the end of it which allowed the urine to flow freely into the bag.”

So like space sheaths, then.

Astronauts were given the choice of sizes – small, medium, or large, but they would only ever select large. This was resulting in the equipment slipping off with anti-grav problems that you can only imagine.

Instead of insisting that some of the men had requirements for the small size, someone at NASA unofficially used some very simple psychology to get the men to choose the more appropriate gear…
