It’s very different in the U.K. Recently a friend got in touch after almost a decade. His called me that word within three words. It’s a sign of affection here as often as it’s derogatory 😆 Similar in Australia, possibly. But here, if I get a message opening with “Alright c***?,” I know it’s a good friend or old friend checking up on me. The reason I don’t use it in public writing is I know the internet is not all British and it wouldn’t go down too well, ha. Other British people may disagree, we’re a diverse lot for a little island.
