New Study: How Highly Intelligent People Get Kicked by Nature’s Dark Side

Are you highly intelligent? If so, you’re at a higher risk of developing a whole load of bad stuff. In some cases, a much higher risk. New research has looked at why.

It turns out the same thing that contributes to being highly intelligent is also responsible for a dearth of life problems, both physical and mental. Here are some of the psychological issues the highly intelligent have to put up with:

  • 20% higher chance of an autism spectrum diagnosis.
  • 80% chance of ADHD.
  • 83% higher chance of an anxiety disorder.
  • 182% higher chance of any mood-related disorder.

If that’s not bad enough, add the following physical links to high intelligence:

  • 84% more likely to have an autoimmune disease.
  • 108% more likely to have asthma.
  • 213% more likely to have allergies.
